A traditional parlay across four different games multiplies out: the legs are independent, so their probabilities multiply and the price follows. Where the margin hides
Correlation adjustment is legitimate pricing. On top of it sits the book’s margin, and in a same-game parlay that margin is harder to see than in a two-way market, because there is no second side to sum against. You cannot compute the hold the way you can on a main line — the method in juice and hold needs both sides of a market, and here there is only one.
A same-game parlay is the highest-margin product on most sportsbooks precisely because the price is unverifiable from the outside. Treat the absence of a comparison as information.
The one comparison you can make
- Build the same combination at two books.
- Compare the final prices — not the individual legs, which may not even be offered at the same numbers.
- Repeat on a few combinations of the same shape.
- The book that is consistently longer is pricing correlation more generously, and that is as close to a hold comparison as this market allows.
The honest use for them
A same-game parlay is an entertainment product with a high margin and a small chance of a large return. It is not a value bet and it is not made into one by leg count — every leg added compounds the margin. If the goal is price, it is in the main markets; if the goal is a big number on a small stake with a game to watch, this is what that costs.
- Legs from one game are correlated and priced as a package, not multiplied.
- Positive correlation cuts the payout; that is not an error.
- You cannot compute the hold, because there is no opposite side to sum.

Why won’t a book let me combine two particular legs?
Because they are so strongly correlated that the combination has almost no risk for the bettor. Books block those rather than price them.
Are same-game parlay boosts good value?
They can be, since the boost is applied to a price you cannot verify. Compare the boosted price to the same combination unboosted elsewhere, not to the boost percentage.
Does adding a leg ever improve the value?
It improves the potential return and worsens the expected one. Each leg carries its own share of margin.
