The operator fee
This is the charge the cashier states: a flat amount per withdrawal, a percentage, or nothing at all after the first free payout of the month. It is the easiest of the three to find and the least likely to surprise you. What is worth reading next to it is the free payout allowance: many sites give one free withdrawal per calendar month or per seven days and charge from the second one. Bettors who cash out in small pieces pay this fee several times over for no reason.
If the cashier gives one free withdrawal a month, the cheapest pattern is obvious: leave the balance alone and take it out once. Every extra request is a fee plus another confirmation wait.
The network fee
The network fee is paid to the blockchain, not to the operator, and it changes hour by hour with congestion. It is the reason a payout in one coin can cost a few cents and the same payout in another can cost several dollars on a busy day. Sites that pay in more than one coin let you avoid the expensive one; sites that pay in a single coin do not.

Who pays the network fee
Three arrangements are normal, and the cashier rarely spells out which one applies:
- the operator pays the network fee and sends the full amount you requested;
- the operator deducts the network fee from the amount you requested;
- the operator deducts a fixed “blockchain fee” that is its own estimate and keeps the difference when the network is quiet.
The way to tell them apart takes one small withdrawal. Request a round number, then compare what arrived in the wallet with what left the balance. The difference is your real network cost at that operator, and it stays roughly true for the next payout.
The spread
The third charge is the quiet one. A balance held in dollars has to be converted into coin at the moment of payout, and the rate used for that conversion is the operator’s own. A spread of a per cent against the market rate is invisible in the cashier and costs more on a large payout than both other fees together.
You can measure it the same way you measured the network fee: note the market price of the coin at the minute you request, then divide the coin amount received by the dollars deducted. If the implied rate is worse than the market by more than a per cent or so, the spread is where your money went.
The fee you can see is usually the smallest of the three.
Stablecoins change the arithmetic
A payout in a dollar-pegged stablecoin removes the spread from the equation, because there is nothing to convert on either side. What it does not remove is the network fee: the same stablecoin can be cheap on one chain and expensive on another, and the cashier decides which chain it sends on. If an operator offers a stablecoin, check which network it settles on before you pick it.
